How to Join Troop 110!
===========================

BOYS

We are happy that you are considering joining Boy Scouts. We believe that you will discover Boy Scouting with our Troop to be a very rewarding experience and tons of fun to boot! We have a very active program with a strong emphasis on the outdoors. Our outdoor schedule consists of going on many hikes and at least one weekend campout each month at various locations throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. We also participate in a variety of service projects and community activities throughout the year. Scouting will keep you busy, but the rewards are great!

Age Requirements:

You must be at least 11 years of age to join and can remain active until age 18 (boys who have earned Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts may join at age 10 1/2). You do not need any previous scouting experience to join Boy Scouts. What you do need is a desire to learn, have fun and agree to live by the principals of scouting.

There are a couple of ways to introduce yourself to Troop 110.

    1.

If you have a friend in our Troop, go to a Patrol meeting with him. The Patrol leader can put you in contact with our Scoutmaster who can provide additional information and a registration form.

    2.

Contact the Scoutmaster and go to a Troop meeting (see Calendar). He can get you a registration form and put you in contact with a Patrol for you to join. Our meeting location is St. Anne's Church, 32223 Cabello St, Union City, CA 94587.

Fees:

The registration fee is $150 and includes the following:

  • Insurance for Scouts
  • Quality or Honor Unit patches
  • All merit badges, rank patches and other awards for Scouts
  • Boys' Life Magazine

We would love to have you stop by and check us out. We'll be happy to explain our program and answer any questions you may have.

PARENTS

Quality leadership is important in the training of youth as members of the Boy Scouts of America. It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping instill values in young people and, in other ways, prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential.

We believe that your son will get out of scouting as much as he is willing to put into it. However, he will need your help. In order to have a successful program we ask that you contribute a few hours of your time each month to help with planning activities, organizing events or any other of the various jobs that need to be done. As leaders, we consider these hours to be a small investment in our boy's future. If you have a special skill or talent that could benefit our program, so much the better. Even if its just providing transportation on campouts, that may be enough. We know that these are busy times for everyone, but we do ask that you assist where you can.

If you would like to become a Volunteer Leader, Committee Member, or helper, you can also register with the Boy Scouts of America.

The registration fee is $35 and includes the following:

  • A subscription to Scouting magazine
  • Insurance for 12 months
  • Awards
